Job Title: SCM Specialist – Fulfilment & Stores Operations

Job Summary

Responsible for end-to-end material fulfilment, stores & inventory management, logistics & dispatch coordination, and ERP implementation from SCM perspective. Acts as the single point of contact for SCM in daily cross-functional operations, ensuring uninterrupted production, disciplined inventory, and timely inward and outward material movement. Production planning raises PRs; this role ensures material feasibility, execution, and risk control.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Daily Fulfilment & Cross-Functional Coordination • Represent SCM in daily production, operations, quality, and dispatch meetings. • Ensure material availability against production-raised PRs. • Validate PRs for lead time, MOQ, pipeline inventory, and supplier feasibility. • Anticipate shortages and resolve risks proactively to avoid line stoppages. • Decide SCM priorities during constraints and escalate only critical issues.
  2. Stores, Inventory & Dispatch Management • Lead stores team and ensure disciplined inward, GRN, binning, FIFO, and traceability. • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits. • Define and monitor Min–Max and safety stock norms. • Control excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory. • Oversee dispatch planning, outward material movement, and documentation. • Coordinate with transporters and internal teams to ensure on-time dispatch. • Track proof of delivery (POD) and close dispatch-related issues.
  3. ERP Implementation & Ownership (SCM Scope) • Act as SCM owner for ERP implementation and go-live. • Own SCM master data (item, vendor, bins, workflows). • Ensure correct PR–PO–GRN–Issue–Dispatch workflows. • Coordinate with ERP vendor, IT, production, stores, and logistics teams. • Train users and drive ERP discipline post go-live
  4. Planning Interface & Control • Interface with production planning on feasibility and material constraints. • Ensure PRs reflect realistic supply conditions. • Prevent unplanned expediting and inventory fluctuations. • Enforce SCM approval controls as defined in ERP and SOPs.
  5. Reporting & Governance • Publish daily and weekly SCM dashboards. • Support SCM Head in reviews, audits, and escalations.

Minor Responsibilities:

  1. Standard / Non-Development Item Sourcing (C-Class) • Handle sourcing of bearings, fasteners, BOPs, packaging, consumables, and MRO. • Maintain approved vendor base and rate contracts. • Ensure continuity of supply with minimal emergency purchases.
