Job Summary
As a Mechanical Design Engineer within the Engineering team, you will be the critical link between product innovation and factory execution. You will lead the design and implementation of robust fixtures, tooling, and equipment necessary for high-volume automotive production. Your mission is to translate complex EV powertrain designs into scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes, ensuring that released products move seamlessly from the CAD environment to the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and detail high-precision manufacturing fixtures, jigs, gauges, and assembly aids to ensure efficient line operation and product quality.
- Conduct Design Reviews and utilize FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or stress/strain calculations to validate fixture integrity and performance.
- Develop comprehensive 2D engineering drawings with expert-level GD&T (ASME/ISO standards) for procurement and fabrication.
- Lead the transition of released products into active production, establishing workflows, process parameters, and standard operating procedures.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between R&D and the Shop Floor, converting abstract engineering concepts into actionable manufacturing solutions.
- Provide high-level troubleshooting and engineering support to resolve complex manufacturing issues, ensuring process stability for released products.
- Identify opportunities for design standardization, cost reduction, and tooling optimization to enhance plant-wide efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- BE / BTech in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical Engineering
- 3–6 years of experience in NVH testing
- Proficiency in CATIA or SolidWorks for complex assembly and fixture design.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and drafting standards.
- Familiarity with machining, welding, sheet metal, and 3D printing
