We are inventing a new low cost, high volume manufacturing process that complements our patented product design. It’s an opportunity to reduce motor manufacturing cost by up to 10X.
Looking for someone excited about building the machine that builds the machine, automating things and combining precision, quality and throughput with simple solutions
Job Responsibilities:
- Go from 0 → 1 and then 1 → N for the manufacturing process for motors
- System and component level design of housing, fixtures, robotics to determine optimal mechanical architecture while optimizing for efficiency and cost
- Drive simulations and validate proper structural integrity under static and dynamic loading
- Develop in-house test setups and test procedures for durability, throughput and quality
- Interface with component suppliers to drive detailed component drawings and test requirements
Qualifications
- Strong first principles understanding of mechanical loading, failure modes, materials and material processing
- Prior experience in using Ansys or similar software for FEA and structural analysis
- Prior knowledge of Machining and Molding processes. Ideally worked with suppliers and understands tooling, materials and processes
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
