Responsibilities
- Play key role in laying framework for electrical and controls inverter design for 48-96V architecture electric drivetrains, create new technology and products while paving path for future product roadmap
- Push the limits on creating worlds most power dense and robust inverter system and prove it out in field
- System and component level design of inverter, power conversion board, controls board for cost, high volume manufacturing
- Drive simulations and validate performance and efficiency
- Support EMI/EMC, reliability, thermal and NVH testing
- Develop in-house test setups and test procedures for durability and performance
- Choosing and planning switching and control components based on latest advances and future usability
- Interface with component suppliers to drive detailed component drawings and test requirements
- Write and own live product specifications
- Direct layout design and E-CAD activities in Altium
- Participate in safety analysis
- Contribute to creating product manuals, datasheets and brochures
Qualifications
Education: MS/PhD in Engineering is preferred with a research / project focus on inverter drives OR BS with 2-5yrs of experience
- Strong first principles understanding of power electronics, PCB layout, controls theory
- Prior experience of at least one design iteration of a power/control board going through concept, design, release, testing, validation and (ideally) a production ramp
