Quality Engineer (Plant + Supplier Quality)
Job Summary
This is a high-impact, critical role at the core of how we build reliable products, and we are intentionally looking for top-tier talent—someone who goes beyond execution to shape systems and outcomes, operates with high ownership and strong engineering judgment, and can build robust quality processes from the ground up. You will own end-to-end quality across the entire product lifecycle—from early design and supplier development to stable mass production and field performance—ensuring that quality is built into the product and process, not inspected in later.
What You’ll Do
- Drive incoming, in-process, and end-of-line quality with a zero-defect mindset, ensuring robust controls at every stage
- Lead supplier quality (SQA/SQE): onboarding, capability assessment, development, PPM ownership, and strong 8D closures
- Define QAP, CTQs, FTG, and inspection methods before RFQ, ensuring risks are identified and controlled upfront
- Ensure PPAP reflects true production readiness—validated processes, stable capability, and consistent output (not just documentation)
- Own post-PPAP quality: line issues, field failures, and elimination of repeat problems through systemic fixes
- Set up and scale the QC lab—measurement systems, calibration processes, and inspection frameworks aligned with production needs
- Design and develop QC fixtures for fast, repeatable, and reliable inspection of critical dimensions
- Apply strong material understanding (metals, heat treatment, coatings, etc.) to validate specifications, detect risks, and ensure performance in real-world conditions
- Work closely with design & manufacturing teams to catch risks early (tolerance stack-ups, material selection, application conditions) and drive design-for-quality
What You’ll Work On
- Precision hardware that actually ships — gears, motor components, and assemblies where microns matter and mistakes show up in the field
