The Motor Dyno Test Engineer is responsible for conducting dynamometer tests on electric motors to evaluate their performance, efficiency, and durability. This role involves setting up and executing test procedures, analyzing test data, and collaborating with design, R&D, and quality teams to ensure that motors meet performance and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate dynamometer test stands for electric motor performance testing.
- Configure dynamometer hardware, torque transducers, and power supplies.
- Design and assemble test fixtures, couplings, and mounting systems for different motor configurations.
- Develop and implement test plans and procedures based on engineering requirements.
- Conduct performance, efficiency, durability, and thermal tests on electric motors.
- Analyze test data, generate reports, and provide recommendations for design improvements.
- Work with design and R&D teams to validate motor prototypes and production units.
- Troubleshoot test equipment, instrumentation, and software issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Automate data collection and test reporting processes where applicable.
- Document test procedures, findings, and corrective actions for future reference.
- Implement and integrate Controller Area Network (CAN) protocols for motor communication and data acquisition.
- Develop and troubleshoot CAN-based communication systems for motor testing.
- Utilize CAN bus analyzers and diagnostic tools to monitor and interpret CAN signals.
