What we're looking for

We are looking for a talented engineer that is passionate about accelerating the growth of the EV industry with a strong discipline in test procedures ranging from material qualification to component validation and fixture design. An individual that is detail obsessive, taking pride in driving company decisions through well executed tests and appreciates the art of collecting clean data.

You will lead the development and validation efforts of our stator design as we scale up for mass manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test procedures to qualify and validate new materials such as electrical insulation
• Develop test procedures to confirm spec and find limits of our components ex/busbars
• Collaborate with manufacturing team for process validation
• Design fixtures required in order to accomplish tests
• Manage vendor relationships for tests / fixtures being outsourced
• Research and establish criteria for testing based on reqs from accredited motor qualification institutions

Qualifications

• Two years within the mechanical / research engineering field
• Minimum BS in Mechanical/Materials/Electrical/Physics or related
• Strong base of engineering fundamentals including materials, thermal, electrical
• Fluent in 3D CAD and 2D drawings (Solidworks, Catia, Onshape)
• Experience with DAQs, thermocouples, strain gauges, oscilloscope
• Thrives in a fast paced startup environment and can successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
